A few of the Lori Wiles Design designers took a trip down to Atlanta, Georgia this spring to check out the Kwalu showroom. Kwalu is a furniture company specializing in healthcare and assisted living. Their pieces are versatile and good-looking, they function well, and are nearly indestructible. So when we were invited down for a tour of the showroom we took advantage of the opportunity to check out everything they had to offer.
Day two was off to the showroom. We walked a tour of the showroom, discussing and trying out much of the furniture. Then we enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Zoës Kitchen, and viewed a presentation about the company. We learned about the construction of the furniture and the benefits of giving up real wood furniture for Kwalu’s durable, high- impact-resilient polymer furniture. It stays looking new for an incredibly long time. We were even encouraged to swing at a conference room chair with a metal bat. The most damage we could do was a small scratch that could be buffed out in a few seconds.
Last we searched through Kwalu’s huge collection of fabric books, ordered tons of samples, and took off to catch our plane home. It was a very beneficial, fun trip!
